Vision-only warehouse convoy
Designed a camera-only predecessor-following system in ROS 2 Jazzy and Gazebo Harmonic. Each follower estimates relative pose, tracks uncertainty, and moves through a bounded TRACK / PREDICT / SAFE STOP supervisor.

I’m Neeraj. I work with Python, C++, ROS 2, and Linux on perception, state estimation, and control. I care about systems that are testable, observable, and straightforward to debug.
A few things I’ve built
These projects are where I’ve spent the most time: connecting perception to systems code, testing the edges, and writing down what actually worked.

CPU-first local authentication with Qt enrollment, a minimal PAM bridge, and fail-closed behavior.
A native Hyprland control plane with one event-driven shell, reversible installation, and confirmation-gated recovery.
An interpretable research framework for testing how hand-crafted acoustic features generalize across languages.
02 ROLE SIGNAL
Pick the area closest to your work. This is a quick view of the parts of my background that connect to it.
Perception, state estimation, control, simulation, and the tests that keep the pieces working together.
Research + field work
My experience moves between theory, simulation, and hardware—always with measurement at the end.
Benchmarked nonlinear time-of-arrival localization solvers and quantified 6.8 m RMSE for linear approximations.
Reduced simulated RSSI localization error by 50% through anchor placement and GDOP analysis in a 200-node network.
Integrated perception and embedded control across two UAV/UUV prototypes, reaching 92% obstacle-avoidance success in real-world trials.
Reduced aerial tracking latency by 30 ms through onboard OpenCV optimization.
Calibrated ArduPilot flight controllers across four drone prototypes.
Reduced mid-flight telemetry errors by 12% through PID tuning and flight-log analysis.
Trained predictive models across 10,000+ medical samples.
Built signal-processing and model-evaluation workflows for neurological biomarker research.
04 ABOUT
I’m most interested in autonomy problems where software has to understand a noisy world and still make a safe, timely decision. Outside the algorithm, I care about the unglamorous parts that make the system real: interfaces, deployment, observability, fallback, and documentation.

Occasional notes on technology, people, and how the systems around us could work better.
We want world-class engineering. So why do we look down on people working with machines? A sandwich thought about skilled trades, social status, and India’s growth.
